  5. When and how will the changeover to Aviva take place? Will I have to do anything? Who will pay for what I have to do?
  6. I've got large amounts of promotional materials from Norwich Union. I do not intend to destroy them as it is such a waste of paper, what will happen if I use them when you are called Aviva?
  7. How much will you spend to support this with advertising etc? Do you expect to see a dip in business?
  8. Are you prepared to fund a specific systems release for this? We haven't got capacity to make your changes.

Our answers

You have hundreds of years of heritage in the Norwich Union name, my customers have never heard of Aviva, how can I reassure them they still have the same level of cover and service?

We have been working to build awareness of the Aviva brand over recent months, and over the coming months, this activity will be increased to build confidence and awareness among consumers.

Will I continue to deal with the same account management team?

Yes, there will be no changes to teams as a result of the change.

I feel like I will be dealing with a big anonymous global company. Can you reassure me that you will continue to deliver local service and retain specific product knowledge?

The people and organisation that you deal with will not change as a result of the move to a global brand. The heritage and service associated with Norwich Union will remain but will be built upon as part of a global organisation: Aviva. We'll be in a position to be able to build on our local expertise by adding knowledge from other global markets to improve the offerings to our brokers and partners. You will continue to deal with the same team on a day to day basis.

I have delegated authority and produce my own branded documentation - I've invested significantly in the systems to do this, will you pay for the necessary changes?

This announcement is the first stage of moving to the Aviva brand. The migration to the Aviva brand will be carried out over the next two years. It is very important to us that we manage the process well and therefore we will be carefully analysing what work needs to be done and putting together the appropriate timelines. We will be contacting all of our partners in due course to ensure that they are kept fully informed.

When and how will the changeover to Aviva take place? Will I have to do anything? Who will pay for what I have to do?

The change will occur over the next two years. We are currently reviewing the exact timing. For now you do not have to do anything. Your account manager will contact you and will discuss in detail what will happen, when, what you will need to do and how we can work together to change to our global brand: Aviva.

I've got large amounts of promotional materials from Norwich Union. I do not intend to destroy them as it is such a waste of paper, what will happen if I use them when you are called Aviva?

In our planning we have sought to take into account the time you need to make changes to materials in a well managed way. The change to Aviva will happen over the next two years which we believe should give you time to use your existing branded items. We will be discussing the changes with you in good time to allow a smooth transition to our global brand: Aviva.

If your business with us involves you producing or issuing documents with Norwich Union branding and/or Norwich Union company names, we will be in touch with you in good time before the changes take place, to discuss any actions needed and any related issues such as stock management.

How much will you spend to support this with advertising etc? Do you expect to see a dip in business?

There will be significant Aviva sponsorship and advertising campaigns throughout the transition, starting in the autumn this year so that we increase awareness and recognition of the Aviva brand. We do not anticipate a dip in business as current brand names will remain for at least a year which will provide us with time to build recognition of the Aviva brand and ensure a smooth transition.
